Sant'Anna school research innovations by “spinoff Club” presented at the INTERNET Festival on october 11-13. digital technologies reshaping business models across the entire value chain

The “Sant’Anna School Spinoff Club” participates in the Internet Festival in Pisa on October 11-13 at the Centro congressi “Le Benedettine” (piazza San Paolo a Ripa d’Arno, 16). Luca Ascari, president of the Spinoff Club, attends the conference “Dalla ricerca all’impresa: competenze e nuove professioni” that will be held on Saturday, October 13 at 10.00 am. This conference aims to explore the impact of Open Innovation and “Liquid Innovation” on the global market focusing on the formation of new external networks that provide access to innovation overturning the traditional means.

The “Spinoff Club” members aim to form and sustain their network and internal capabilities to fuel opportunities. Seeking to join forces, boost products and services, the Club companies will collaborate with players across healthcare sector, information technology and industry 4.0 accelerating the current pace of business consolidation.
The High Level of Innovation performance is focused on collecting, and leveraging vast amounts of information followed by the careful design and implementation of the process required for demonstrating its safety and efficacy in the multi-sectorial settings.

By focusing on innovation activities, the Sant’Anna School Club companies that entered new markets and continue efforts to globalize their strategies are:  

ABzero develops software solutions for transporting blood products, medicines and human organs by drones at faster speeds reducing transportation time by 80% in short distance and 50% in middle distance journeys.

SIXTH SENSE focuses on hardware and software systems for Big Data solutions. Engineers designed the EyeDrive app, a predictive systems to analyse drivers’ behaviour using smartphone sensors (GPS, accelerometer, and camera detecting various human behavior and capturing the live image of individuals). The App EyeDrive is available in Apple Stores as of July 2018.

Camlin presents the ARC-Intellicare platform enabling home-based motor rehabilitation. The system was awarded the PCP MAGIC H2020. It offers both patient and therapist the ability to monitor exercise and activity and permits the therapist to customize the rehabilitation to individual patient circumstances. In November 2018, 300 patients will assess the home-based ARC-Intellicare system.

CO-ROBOTICS presents I-Ring, a smart ring that works in conjuction with smartphones and larger devices. It consists of a physiological parameters monitoring system with integrated wireless sensors. I-Ring will be unveiled in December 2018.

VR Media presents a smart augmented-reality helmet that assists industry technicians in remote operations during maintenance activities. It connects operators with systematic instructions using text, icons, images, 3D models and animations to complete their tasks.

Evidence focuses on open source software systems. Their software solutions offer tools to monitor, track and communicate in the domestic appliance, automotive, and electronics industries. Their Erika Enterprise is the first open-source Free RTOS that has been certified OSEK/VDX compliant.
